Updated: Dec 9, 2021

This is a running blog of updates to the race.

December 9, 2021 We welcome new local running partners! A Runners Mind (SF and Peninsula, Transports (East Bay), Heart and Sole (Sonoma).

December 7, 2021 New for 2022, we are adding a 3,000k Challenge that visits all the bays on the west coast! A Bay Race for everyone in the West!

December 5, 2021 After much thought on whether virtual races are still needed, we've decided to run The Bay Race 2022! Watch this space.

January 2. Technical support FAQ updated. Check under the SUPPORT menu for common technical problems and ways to contact us.

December 2. Swimming, Skating, Skiing, Rowing, SUP added. The OPEN event now includes all these sports. All new sports extend to the Team Challenge too.

December 24, 2020. New bike/run/walk race added. You can now combine all your activity, indoors or outdoors, into one race-in-place journey. If you are currently registered, we will be emailing you to see if you want to change events.

November 20, 2020. The Medals are here! We have just received our first shipment of medals! These are lovely colored metal medals in the design of our logo, with a colorful necklace. Here's are pictures on Facebook on our Bay Race Guides.

October 5, 2020 Introducing SODISP. We have chosen the Socially Distanced Sports (SODISP) platform to support the 2020 race. SODISP has a number of advantages but key among those is its Strava integration which really makes logging miles a lot easier. You can see The Bay Race tracking and leaderboards here.

September 12, 2020 Seneca, our non-profit partner. We have selected Seneca as our cause for the 2020 Bay Race. Seneca does amazing work with children and families throughout California and Washington, providing mental health services using their method of Unconditional Care. We felt that mental health is a sorely overlooked area during 2020. We all joke about 2020 being a drag on our mental health, of course, but this is a very real, tangible challenge for children and families.
